“And it is through fantasy that children achieve catharsis.
It is the best means they have for taming wild things.”
One of my all-time favorite books to read when I was a kid was Where The Wild Things Are, by Maurice Sendak. The idea of escaping your parents rule and living in a place where a kid can do anything they wanted was just oh-so appealing at that age. As an adult, the 338 word picture book is even more relatable now than it was then. In a few short pages, Where The Wild Things Are captures feelings of isolation, the fears and concerns about growing up, and the dreams we left behind when we left childhood.
I came across this mural while shopping on Melrose Ave and fell in LOVE! You have to love that L.A. Fall, when a mini skirt is still totally appropriate for the day. This maroon and black chevron print skirt it made out of vegan leather and you cant even tell the difference in person. Unfortunately, the skirt is sold out everywhere, but I was able to locate some other options that are gorgeous and linked below. Can we please talk about the sleeves on this sweater?!? So cute and fun!
