Hello, Wild Pretty Things!
Hello friends! I have heard about microblading – the good, the bad, and the ugly. Honestly the bad + ugly have kept me away. But, when Anna from Advanced PMU reached out and I saw the caliber of her work, I decided to put my fears on the back burner and give it a try. I was a little nervous before I had the procedure done. I’ve heard that it hurts a lot or, even worse, that people have left with SUPER janky eyebrows. Luckily, I trusted Anna at Advanced PMU and she did an amazing job. I left feeling like now, at 31, I finally have the eyebrows I should have had my entire life.
The procedure started by applying numbing cream to my eyebrows. The cream was left on for about 20 minutes and then she started to measure out my new brows. Anna took out these tools like look like they were straight from a Stats class and, honestly, it gave me a little anxiety thinking about math class. She measured and marked the brows that would perfectly fit my face shape. Once the brows were measured out, it was time for the tattoo.
Now, microblading isn’t a permanent tattoo. Permanent tattoos deposit the ink into the third and last layer of the skin. With microblading, ink is deposited into the second layer of skin. This means that the color will fade and the results will not be permanent.
The tattoo process was virtually painless. There were a few spots that were a little tender, but mostly it was just a slight pinching feeling. The procedure was also really quick. Within an hour I was looking at my beautiful new brows in awe. Watch the video below to get a better look at my fabulous new brows!
The aftercare was super simple as well. You just have to keep the area free of excessive water for three days. You also have to apply coconut oil as needed for the same three days. The eyebrows will begin to flake the skin off at that point. The results were less dramatic then when we first finished. They looked natural and perfect!
