7 Spring 2018 Trends From The Runway

spring 2018 trends from the runway

Hello, Wild Pretty Things!

My picks are all my favorite affordable pieces to recreate the runway looks + trends. I also have provided lots of other examples of each trend for all different styles. Making a trend work for you is all about finding your own way of incorporating it into your wardrobe.

1. Bright, Saturated Hues:

For Spring you typically think of pastels – which are always fabulous. So I was really excited to see the runway strewn with bight, saturated colors. The Schutz Sandal above is the most gorgeous rosy pink shade. Slim ties lace up and around the ankle of a statement-making sandal designed with ruffled straps. I am crushing on this belted hot pink dress – That saturated pink color is very on trend + I love it here with the cabby hat! The saturated blue trousers are such a beautiful shade + would add that extra pop to any work outfit. You can shop any of my picks or the other trends below by clicking on the image.

Another trend that we saw all over the runway was sheer looks. For the average woman, a sheer look isn’t really practical addition to your wardrobe. This is one of the cases where you can take a trend and make it work for your style. The white dress below offers just the right amount of sheerness in those gorgeous sleeves. These Free People mules are so cute + would be perfect for warm Spring days or trips to the beach. The pink ones are SO cute! The black top offers just enough sheerness to be sexy + day time appropriate. You can shop any of my picks or the other trends below by clicking on the image.

3. Mixed Prints:

I am always a fan of mixing prints. (In fact, I have an entire post about it HERE) So, I was SUPER excited to see the top designers fearlessly mixing bold prints. Now, I understand that Mixing bold pints can be a scary affair, but the pieces I selected makes it fool proof. The clutch is going to be the bag you use all though Spring & all though Summer. I love the fabric selection for this pleated skirt. This would get amazing movement & would look great paired with a cropped top. I absolutely love the mix of the two different floral prints on the last top. The blouse has a great cut & gets beautiful movement. You can shop any of my picks or the other trends below by clicking on the image.

4. Pastels:

This trend is a classic choice for Spring. However, instead of the usual girly silhouettes, you saw a minimalist full coverage look. I kept the color pallette, but I kept the classic girly style. This blue dress is so eye catching + would be perfect for a Spring wedding or other special event. The pink dress is something I need to add to my wardrobe ASAP. Besides being a beautiful pastel shade of pink + covered in the most adorable eyelets – The dress can also be worn 3 different ways! (You can see the different ways it can be worn by clicking on the image of the dress) The jacket at the end is a tweed blazer. I have been looking for a cute tweed blaze for a really long time & feel like I only just now found it. The classic Coco Chanel classic is made modern + on trend my the eye catching pastel purple hue. You can shop any of my picks or the other trends below by clicking on the image.

5. Satin & Shine:

I love the satin & shine looks we saw walk across the runway this season. Especially that Peter Pilotto mint & lilac number above – So gorg! This pink satin skirt is a show stopping piece. I love the satin sheen and the over sized buttons going down the side. This would be a piece I could see making a ton of different looks with. I love the idea of an espadrille sneaker. I love it even more when done in a satin sneaker – It makes a cool mix with the casual espadrille + the satin fabric that is usually used for more of an evening look. This last kimono dress is something that would get loads of compliments. The yellow color is beautiful + interesting & the knot detail would be super flattering for all different kinds of body shapes. You can shop any of my picks or the other trends below by clicking on the image.

6.  Fringe:

As a lover of bohemian style, I would never tun down a fringe detail. I really enjoyed the diversity in the application of fringe in many of the looks. Designers were able to elevate and transform the detail so that it moved past the boho look and ended up somewhere ultra chic. These fringe earrings are simple + super versatile. The mule with the fringed heel is something I have never seen & I think it would really had a little surprise to any outfit. The Free People metallic fringed pull over is the chicest sweater for a chilly Spring day. You can shop any of my picks or the other trends below by clicking on the image.

Tulle is such a super fun fabric, it was great to see it being done in lots of different shapes + silhouettes. This Moon & Stars tulle skirt is so adorable! I might be planning a trip to Joshua Tree and this would be such an amazing piece for star gazing in the desert. This polka dot dress has a really unique shape to it. I love that it is off the shoulder & the tulle gives it tons of drama + volume. This last skirt I have had on my ASOS wish list for a while now. Now that it is finally getting close to Spring I am going to have to purchase this orange tulle skirt. It’s on sale right now & under $25! You can shop any of my picks or the other trends below by clicking on the image.
