DRESS: BCBG ( Similar & SO cute!) | BELT: Raina (In Love With THIS!) | HEELS: Chinese Laundry ( Need THESE) | TIGHTS: Spanx |
Hello, Wild Pretty Things!
Today we are talking about the pieces that take you from the current rain & snow to the finally wearing those Spring dresses we are all dying to wear! This is going to be a three piece collaboration series with three of my favorite bloggers. Each Sunday, for the next three Sundays, I will collaborate with a different blogger who will bring you their top Winter to Spring transition piece. This post is a collaboration with Claudia from New Life – Fresh You. Her blog is loaded with chic styling tips & amazing beauty secrets. Don’t forget to check out her post with her top favorite transition piece using the link above.
Tights are definitely my top pick when it comes to transition pieces. Tights are great because you can buy them in different thicknesses to keep you warm in a variety of different temperatures. I also love to layer tights for warmth of aesthetic purposes. A thick warm tight with a more sheer tight with a pattern can add interest to a look while also keeping you as warm as if you were wearing pants.
Tights, in different hues and patterns, have the ability to take one dress and make it look like tons of totally different outfits. Tights come in so many different patterns and textures, this gives them the power to add interest and depth to an outfit. Tights also make an outfit look more put together and polished. But best of all, tights allow you to wear your Spring dresses without freezing your booty off in the cold.
In the look I created, I wanted to style this super cute polka dot BCBG dress that I have been dying to wear. It has been super gloomy & rained most of the last week or two – Definitely not weather you would think to wear a dress in. I paired the dress with a pair of my favorite Spanx tights. These tights are AMAZING! They’re super high quality, come in a variety of thicknesses, and they have a snug fit that gives you that extra slimming hug – So flattering! These tights kept me so so warm in the rain.
I paired the look with the embellished belt to accentuate my waist line and to add some texture. I love these colorful Chinese Laundry heels to add some more color to the look & because they are just so fun. The best part about this look is you can take this dress, or any dress like this, and mix up the tight options to create new looks.
