Hello, Wild Pretty Things!
I hope everyone had a fun & safe night celebrating the end of 2017. This look was supposed to be my NYE look, but I ended up going with a SUPER cas look because it was so so cold outside. We went to a friends house for a small party & potluck – so I opted for jeans & a leather jacket. I still wanted to show you guys this look because this dress is absolutely gorgeous! This little lace number is under $100 and comes in 6 different colors! (I love the one in forest green color that keeps going in & out of sale!) I am actually shocked that I ended up not doing a full sequin look. Last year I was a disco ball in a sequin dress and never felt more fabulous. I saw this dress at Nordstroms and fell in love with the flattering cut and the sheer lace detailing on the bottom. I don’t usually wear long dress very often, but having the bottom be partially sheer really breaks up the bottom of the dress and makes it look a lot less heavy.
This faux fur stole is one of my favorite accessories and as we move further into winter I know I am going to get a ton of use out of it. A stole like this adds some rich color and texture to any outfit. Plus, besides being totally chic, it will keep you super warm while you are out in the cold. If you follow me on Instagram (Follow me HERE) on my Insta stories I took you shopping with me at TJMaxx. I got this clutch on sale for $16! I am such a bargain shopper to my core and I get such a thrill out of deals like this. (Anyone else?) The clutch is black crushed velvet with purple applique flowers. The bag is SUPER spacious and has several pouches to help keep you organized.
I paired the look with these white pointed toe heels I got from Mod Cloth. They were part of their reclaimed vintage line – This is where they take vintage items and rework them or they have vintage inspired pieces. Because of that, they have a really unique shape to them – One I haven’t really seen elsewhere – and they have great little details to them. When I added the shoes I noticed the look had kind of an ombre effect going on – starting with the light shoes, moving to a the medium pink dress, and up to the rich colors in the bag & stole.
Lastly, I had to add a little sparkly with my vintage necklace and bracelet. I love hunting down these costume jewelry crystal necklaces at flea markets. I have had so much luck finding them and now have a pretty impressive collection. The bracelet was from Urban Outfitters – It is a chunky chain bracelet with little rhinestones scattered among the chains. After all, it is NYE & every girl deserves to sparkle.
