Hello, Wild Pretty Things!
This months theme is all about the LOVE. With Valentines Day just around the corner you are probably trying to find the perfect way to tell your boo that you love them. I have never been a fan of the whole fancy dinner out on V-Day. It always is so hectic and the food is never as good because the restaurant is packed and they’re just trying to push the food out. After more then a few bad Valentines dinner experiences, I have decided to skip the fancy meal and get a little more creative when it comes to celebrating with that special someone. Listed below are some of my go to date ideas and even a little sneak peak of how we are celebrating Valentines Day.
1. Get Into Nature
I love picnics and its a simple and really adorable date idea. We live so close to the beach, so beach picnics are our go to for a fun date in nature. I absolutely loved The College Housewife’s Mediterranean inspired beach picnic, pictured above. You could even hike to the top of a trail or to a really scenic place and then have a romantic picnic there. If this is your course of action, remember that you have to carry everything to the spot and it will not be kept cold on the travel.

Nothing better then a homemade, delicious dinner in the comfort of our own home. When we decide to something a little more simple like this, we always try something really fancy or maybe a little more technical. It’s nice to send the time putting the meal together, all the while drinking wine & listening to music. Lemons For Lulu’s grilled steak with roasted tomatoes and blue cheese sounds to die for!

The last time you made a blanket for was probably when you were like 10 years old. Relive those feels with your special someone and make it a movie screening. PJ’s & sweatpants are totally acceptable attire – honestly, who doesn’t love that?? Make sure you have lots of snacks on hand, just like in Buzz Feed’s blanket fort movie set up above.

This is going to take a little cleaver thinking as far as the clues go, but it can be really sweet/silly/fun. You can have the clues lead to a date location or to a special surprised- It can be whatever you like. I did this once, not as a Valentines Day date, but as something silly to do with a group of friends. We each contributed actions that needed to be completed and documented with a photograph. The tasks ranged from finding an ugly tie to getting an old man to do the robot with you. That was seriously one of the tasks & we met the sweetest old man who did a pretty phenomenal robot. I also really loved The Dating Diva’s scavenger hunt date suggestions, shown above.

Valentines Day can be slightly traumatic if you are a single gal. That is where your best friends come in and turn that sad fest into a day of celebrating the amazing women in your life. One Stylish Party went all out for a super gorgeous Galentines Day date. Instead of staying home alone, use this as an excuse to get all your favorite girlfriends together to create new memories.
